26th June - League Cup

Bainfield 4 - 1 Slateford

Bainfield confirmed their position at the top of the league finishing the the first half as League Cup champions.
The final result was in doubt up to the very last ends with Slateford proving to be stern opponents.

There is now a few weeks break before we move onto the second half of the season when we will play out our league fixtures. Let's celebrate our success for now and hopefully back fully refreshed ready to go again!

10th August

Bainfield 16 - 13 Carrick Knowe

Congratulations to Peter Ramsay, Peter Stewart, John Douglas and Adam Brock. Great comeback to win a final that looked highly unlikely with 3 ends left to play! A five scored on the 13th end brought Bainfield back into contention which meant that the team was one down with two ends to play. Bainfield were lying a good six on the fourteenth end, however the Carrick Knowe skip (John Burns) managed to cut it down to a three with the last bowl. A good last end with a Bainfield bowl right on the jack made the task difficult for Carrick Knowe in trying to change the head. All in all a very good win very much against the odds.

Bainfield 12 - 13 Gorgie Mills

Such a close thing for our pair (Rab Henderson & Malky Cook) .Never easy when you lose a final by 1- shot. I'm sure both guys will look back over some of the missed opportunities to put the game away!
However the main talking point of the day was Rab arriving to play the final with 2 bowls only!!!!!! "Sorry Rab, I had to mention it!"
Thankfully our host's, Currie BC managed to find Rab a set of four bowls to continue the final.
